This type of shuttle works great for just about any type of hand weaving.  i like to load my warp in a figure 8 over the spine to give me a more padded place fir my delicate fingers.  Yes, im delicate...like an orchid.

these are both 1/4 inch thick, 1 1/2 inches wide.  one is 8 inches long and the other is 9 1/2.
